MESSAGE FROM MSCU MANAGEMENT:
Due to the wide-spread snow and icy conditions in the Houston area experienced this week, it was necessary for MemberSource CU to close our offices. We planned to be closed on Monday, February 15th out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both our members and our staff. After the dangerous weather conditions persisted and the availability of power and water were sporadic or unavailable, we were forced to remain closed on Tuesday, February 16th and Wednesday, February 17th as well.
Late Wednesday, we were notified that the Oxy and Enbridge buildings would be closed the remainder of the week and therefore the Woodlands and Galleria branches would not be available to open. Both office are scheduled to open on Monday, February 22nd.
We had power and water at our Sugar Land branch and that office opened on Thursday morning with normal business hours of 9am to 5pm. Our Westchase branch had intermittent power until Wednesday but no water. On Thursday morning, the building was still without water but a decision was made to have a delayed opening at noon with only Member Service Center and Drive-Thru services available.
During the time we were unable to open the office, we experienced power outages the same as the rest of the city and surrounding areas. Our generator worked constantly to keep our systems up and running and eventually ran out of fuel. It was refueled on Wednesday, but there was a period when all online services were down from late Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening. Additionally, some of the mobile deposit transactions were unable to post until Thursday. Again, these issues were exacerbated by the up and down power availability.
Management and other personnel worked continuously to resolve the issue as resources were available. Some staff worked from home to process electronic transactions, but when power was not available, those transactions could not be successfully completed.
