Visa® Debit Card
The MemberSource Visa® debit card is the perfect wallet companion. It comes standard with every MemberSource checking account, is accepted worldwide at merchants and ATMs, plus it can be used as both credit and ATM transactions as needed. That makes it one of the most versatile cards you can own. Use your card to access your checking account, savings account or line of credit account at ATMs or wherever you see the Visa® name. Best of all there's no monthly fee to use our debit card.
To use your card:
- Present your Visa® debit card to the merchant for payment. (Some may ask you to swipe your card at the familiar keypad)
- Choose Debit or Credit
- If you choose Debit, you'll need to enter your personal identification number (PIN) you use at ATMs
- If you choose Credit, you'll need to sign for your transaction

Need to Activate Your Visa® Debit Card or Reset Your PIN?
You're in luck! With a MSCU Visa Debit Card, you can activate your card and set/reset your password at any time by calling 800.992.3808 or 800.567.3451. There's no need to wait for a PIN to be mailed or take time to call or drop by the credit union. Simply answer a few security questions to verify ownership and a new PIN can be selected and entered. The update is automatically completed and you may use your card and new PIN immediately. This option is also available in the mobile app by clicking on the Cards option at the bottom of the account screen and choosing Set PIN.

Pick up any phone and you've got the power of a teller in your hand. Just call 713.627.4000 and press 1 for Touchtone Teller day or night. You can transfer funds, get balances and even make loan payments, all from any phone–even cell phones.
And, you don't have to memorize codes to get the information you need. Touchtone Teller will walk you through the transaction and give you prompts along the way.
Instead of bouncing a check and accumulating fees, Overdraft Transfer is a great option for peace of mind. Overdraft Transfer allows you to link your checking account to another savings, checking line of credit or credit card account(s) as designated by you at any time. Transfers to cover overdrafts occur in amounts needed to cover your transactions plus a small fee per item as shown in the current Fee Schedule. When a transfer occurs, we'll send you notification within 24 hours on business days. If you do not designate an Overdraft Transfer account, we will set your Primary Share as the Overdraft Transfer account. Contact our Member Service Center at web.msc@membersourcecu.org or 713.627.4000 for more details. To sign up, simply tell your Financial Service Representative at account opening or any other time you wish to include this service.
* When Overdraft Protection is used from a savings account and the Regulation D maximum of 6 withdrawals or transfers a month has been reached, items will either be returned unpaid or if Overdraft Privilege is available, items will be paid with a higher fee through Overdraft Privilege.
Ever bounced a check and wound up paying two or three times its value just in return check fees? MemberSource has a solution-Overdraft Privilege*. This program is tied to your checking account and provides eligible members with the security of knowing their overdrafts will be paid-up to a total of $500. This service is automatically available on eligible checking accounts. Overdraft Transfer is required for Overdraft Privilege.
Overdraft Privilege may be activated after other overdraft transfer options (savings account balances and/or line-of-credit limits for example) have been exhausted. This means that when you're overdrawn (up to your total allowed limit), we may cover it for you. One fee per covered overdraft transaction will still apply for each transaction that overdraws your checking account and is paid with Overdraft Privilege, but this benefit will save you the expense and inconvenience of returned checks to the merchant due to insufficient funds. And, as long as you're a member in good standing, your Overdraft Privilege will remain active.
* Checks will be returned to payee once the Overdraft Privilege limit is depleted. Payments made on behalf of members are at the discretion of MemberSource Credit Union, and members are responsible for repaying the credit union. This is not a contractual agreement, nor is it a loan, and the privilege may be withdrawn at any time. Please see MSCU's Overdraft Privilege Policy for eligibility requirements. The Overdraft Privilege limit is $500, including non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees charged by MemberSource. A NSF fee will be charged for every overdrawn check as shown on the Fee Schedule.
Direct Deposit provides the security of having your checks (paycheck, pension check, Social Security check) deposited directly into the MemberSource account of your choice. It saves you time and worry — no lines to stand in and no need for concern over a check being lost or stolen — and it's yet another free MemberSource service.
With Payroll Deduction, you can have any amount deducted from your paycheck each pay period and we'll automatically transfer it into your savings account, checking account, IRA or loan payment plan-all at no additional charge. It's your choice.
